INTRODUCTION

This Directory was developed by Family TIES of Massachusetts to help parents and providers locate services and resources for children and youths with special needs. Although the majority of the organizations listed in this directory provide services for children from birth to 22 years of age, some also serve adults.

Please take note…

We are honored to be able to create this special 10th Edition of our Directory. Family TIES has seen the number of listings grow from under 100 to more than 700—and this means it’s time for a change, at least in the manner in which information is presented. You will note dramatic changes to the format of this version, which is separated into 5 sections. Section 1: Resources by Topic offers an enhanced format listing all possible sources of support under each topic header, with notes of the geographic area served and additional language supports for each program. Section 2: Resources A-Z contains an alphabetic listing of all resource programs. Section 3: Early Intervention contains information about services, while the contact information for the programs is now available through our website and from members of our staff. Section 4: State Agencies contains contacts for agencies supporting families. Section 5: En Español and Em Português, lists supports for families that are available in Spanish and Portuguese, respectively. An alphabetic index is at the end of the book.

Gathering information is an effort that we enjoy; however, we cannot do it alone. We continue to invite all members of our special needs community to bring to our attention those resources which have provided outstanding support to a family—you can be sure there is another seeking the same kind of assistance. Please contact Family TIES with your ideas for new supports. Our program is made up of parents, working with parents and for parents. We enjoy sharing information and look forward to your contact.

Support Group Information

Each Family TIES Coordinator has a comprehensive list of ongoing support groups.  Contact your regional coordinator for more information.

If you can’t find something…

Although this Directory is a tool for your use and gives you something to have close at hand, it is not a comprehensive list, nor is it possible to keep a printed listing up to date. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please call a Family TIES coordinator for further assistance.

A brief description about our format…….

The agencies found in this Directory are part of the Family Resource Database, a much larger database which we use to provide information to families and professionals. At the end of each agency description, you will find the geographical area served by the agency, which ranges from National to Statewide to a specific region within Massachusetts, as well as the scope of languages in addition to English spoken at each agency.
