Family TIES of Massachusetts is a statewide information and parent-to-parent support project for families of children with special needs and chronic illness. It is administered by parent coordinators housed in each of the regional offices of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Family TIES serves as the Central Directory for the Massachusetts Early Intervention system. Visit our EI Directory to obtain contact information for individual programs across the state. Contact the Early Intervention Parent Leadership Project to learn more about EI and how you can become involved. Early Intervention Parent Leadership Project Home Page
Our site shares up-to-date information on services, supports, and personal experiences from Early Intervention through transition to adult services. The Family TIES Parent-to-Parent Program provides a unique type of sharing and support among parents who share similar life experiences. This is YOUR PLACE, and we look forward to hearing from you.
WE HAVE OUR FIRST WINNER! I am pleased to share the name of the first parent whose name was randomly selected from participants in our recent mailed survey. Help us to congratulate Dominque A. from Hyde Park, the winner of a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card! Two more winners will be announced soon. Thanks to everyone who participated. In the meantime, responses from our recent mailed survey are being tabulated, and we look forward to hearing what parents have to say about how our program activities have impacted their families.
LAST CHANCE FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL HEALTHCARE NEEDS: Family TIES staff are busy collecting comments from families about their unmet needs. Feel free to call your Regional Coordinator (see the Staff Listing) if you'd like to complete a survey by phone, or download our annual parent survey and return ASAP by mail or fax. Please join us in sharing our needs with the Mass. Department of Public Health. Questionnaire 2009
Time to get your copy of the 11th Edition of our Directory of Resources for Parents of Children and Young Adults with Special Needs. Contact your Regional Coordinator to get one! The on-line version is up and available. The online version will feature a new UPDATES section, with information about programs and resources that we've found since January. Watch for this new feature!
