WELCOME TO FAMILY TIES!

|

|
Family TIES of Massachusetts is a statewide information and parent-to-parent support project for families of children with special needs and chronic illness. Our staff of Parent Coordinators have offices in regional offices of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Family TIES serves as the Central Directory for Early Intervention services in Massachusetts. Our online EI Directory contains contact information for individual programs across the state.
Our site offers information about services, supports, and personal experiences from Early Intervention through transition to adulthood. The Family TIES Parent-to-Parent Program provides a unique type of support among parents who share similar life experiences. This is YOUR PLACE, and we look forward to hearing from you.
- SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE (the gardens are happy, even if we are not so pleased with the weather)...call Family TIES Regional Coordinators if you need help identifying recreational activities for your child with special needs.

- Please help us to keep our Support Group listings current. If you know of a support group that we should add (or has changed its meeting info), please let us know. To find a local group where you can meet other parents, click to see the Regional listings.
- Do you know that Mass. Family Voices, our Family-to-Family Health Information Center, can help you learn more about health services and health insurance, including MassHealth?
- Community volunteers: Are you looking for a way to reduce the cost of food for your family? Check out SERVE NEW ENGLAND, a nonprofit organization that offers food at a 40% discount to anyone - YES, ANYONE - who provides volunteer services in their community. Serve New England also offers COLLEGE AND CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS! Check the website for details.
- The Mental Health How-To Guide, compiled by the Boston Bar Association and Children's Hospital, is a great resource for understanding resources and services for children of all ages, including its new Chapter 7, AGING OUT OF CHILDREN'S SERVICES.
